BACKGROUND CHECKS
In partnership with our local government, Capital Area Shelter HUB Plan (CASHP) team, American Red Cross and local churches, all GO-DRN volunteers are required to have their name checked on the National Sex Offender list in order to receive a General Volunteer ID badge and be able to purchase a “GO” t-shirt. Volunteers with a sex offender offense on their record or convicted of any crimes against minors will not be able to receive a GO-DRN badge or an official t-shirt. Volunteers that have a felony charge on their record within 7 years will not be able to receive an GO-DRN badge. A volunteer with a felony record may receive a GO-DRN white badge after 7 years from the date of the felony.
Click the link below to complete your background check. Click SUBMIT after entry is complete and wait for the Submission Receipt. There is a fee of $11.50 for the background check that you will pay when you submit it. Please forward your results to us at training@go-drn.org. Once we have received your good report, we will print and send you your General Volunteer ID badge and your “GO” shirt if you have prepaid for it.
Will my information be confidential?
GO-DRN commits to you that your background check information is confidential. The approval process can take up to 24 hours. Once you have completed the online form successfully, you should see a “Thank You! Your background check has been completed” screen. If you chose the option to receive a copy of your background check, an email will be sent to you within 48 hours, when requested of the Background Check vendor (not GO-DRN). GO-DRN is sent clearance records by the Background Check Vendor. We check these clearance records each time you register for an advanced training. Providing you have clearance we are able to issue you a GO-DRN White Badge upon completion of each advanced training.
